Civil Journeyman
Erwin, TN
A Civil Journeyman is responsible for multiple tasks of civil construction including site development, form, concrete, block laying, carpentry, drywall installation and finishing, framing, metal roofing and siding installation and repair, and rod-busting work. Our Civil Journeymen primarily operate on an Industrial work site, where safety is a primary focus.
Qualifications:
  • Experience performing Industrial Projects required (Chemical, Pulp & Paper, Heavy Industrial)
  • Apply drywall to walls or ceilings.
  • Fasten drywall panels to the inside framework of building.
  • Taping or finishing joints, smooth out imperfections, measure, cut, fit, and fasten panels, and prepare panels by sawing, drilling, or cutting holes in panels for electrical outlets, air-conditioning units, and plumbing, PVC pipefitting, PEX pipe.
  • Measures, cuts, shapes, assembles, and joins materials made of wood, wood substitutes and other materials.
  • Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures, scaffolding and framework using hand and power tools.
  • Reads, interprets, and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, and other specifications on a variety of structures related to the construction project.
  • May be required to rig and signal form placement.
  • Able to comply with company and site Safety program enforcement.
  • Able to address field situations or realize when communication is needed to address variations.
  • Assist foreman in all daily aspects needed for project.
  • OSHA 10 & 30 Training preferred.

Requirements:
  • Arrive at work on time, as scheduled, consistently, reliably, & complete each shift.
  • Follow all safety rules and standards for the company and for the site.
  • Understand and follow Instructions from the direct supervisor.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma.
  • 5+ years industrial civil construction experience.
