We are SLR Consulting (Americas), a 1500+ team of advisory, environmental, engineering, and regulatory professionals across Canada, the United States, and LATAM. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. As our new Senior Civil Engineer, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.

Role

The Reno office of SLR provides a full range of professional services on a variety of challenging and unique projects that include geotechnical engineering, earthworks and grading, stormwater design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, environmental remediation and construction quality monitoring primarily supporting projects within the mining industry.

The selected candidate will work under the supervision of a registered principal engineer and will mentor junior staff while directing their own projects and technical work flows to deliver on; design; analysis; and preparation of specifications, calculations, and technical reports for a wide variety of mining projects.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering

Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Nevada, or the ability to obtain within 6 months

Working knowledge of Engineering software including, but not limited to:

  • Civil Design & Grading (Civil 3D)

Depending on area of specialization, specialty software to include:

  • Hydrology & Hydraulics (HEC HMS, HEC RAS); or

  • Geotechnical Design (GeoStudio, Rocscience)

Possess valid driver's license

Willing to travel by car and airplane, including travel for domestic projects

Preferred Qualifications

M.Sc. preferred

Willing to travel for international projects

Key Responsibilities

Lead and take professional ownership of projects in a technical capacity

Utilize a variety of computer programs including AutoCAD Civil 3D software and software noted above to undertake designs and computations

Write memos and calculation packages to document work performed
