As a Designer II - Civil, you will join our growing civil engineering team and contribute to a variety of civil design projects. The ideal candidate will work with moderate supervision to develop high-quality construction plans and technical exhibits using Civil 3D. This role involves applying civil design principles, coordinating with engineers and other disciplines, and supporting project execution from concept through final deliverables.

You will be expected to take ownership of assigned design tasks, solve routine design challenges independently, and continue developing technical expertise across grading, drainage, stormwater, and site development projects.

 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce engineered construction plans and sheet setups, including plan views, profiles, grading plans, drainage layouts, and construction details.
  • Apply civil design principles to support site grading, drainage design, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management solutions for renewable energy projects.
  • Work closely with civil engineers to interpret design intent and translate it into accurate CAD drawings.
  • Coordinate with electrical and structural teams to support multidisciplinary project execution.
  • Apply internal and client drafting standards while maintaining quality control across project deliverables.
  • Evaluate routine design alternatives for constructability, code compliance, and site challenges.
  • Support project teams in meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work with increasing independence.
  •  Help improve CAD workflows, templates, and drafting consistency across projects.
Position Requirements:
  • An associate or technical degree in CAD, civil engineering technology, or a related field is required.
  • Two to four years of experience in civil design with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Working knowledge of civil design principles including grading, drainage, and stormwater management.
  • RENEWABLES experience, specifically solar design, is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned tasks while collaborating effectively with engineers and project teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to continue growing technical knowledge and project responsibility.
$63,500 - $71,800 a year
