Job description

Title: Senior Estimator
Location: DMV & Eastern Shore
Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000
Position Summary
Anchor Construction is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead estimating efforts for heavy civil construction projects throughout the DMV region. This role focuses on water, sewer, storm drain, conduit, and underground utility projects and is responsible for developing accurate, competitive bids while supporting successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates.
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
  • Analyze labor, equipment, materials, and production costs.
  • Solicit and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Develop estimates using HCSS HeavyBid and other estimating tools.
  • Prepare bid packages, proposals, and project correspondence.
  • Lead bid reviews and support project turnover activities.
  • Mentor and support estimating team members.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Strong experience with water, sewer, storm drain, conduit, and utility projects.
  • Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
