About the Role

HeyTutor has partnered with schools in Wedgefield, East Orlando to provide high-impact, in-person tutoring to 6th-8th grade students. Applicants must have completed an Associateโ€™s degree or higher, or be currently enrolled in college.

We are hiring Civics & Math Tutors to support students in grades 6th-8th during the school day. This is a great opportunity for college students, aspiring educators, and education professionals looking for consistent hours, competitive pay, and meaningful work in their community.

An in-person background check is required.


Pay & Benefits
  • $20-$24 per hour, based on education and experience

Schedule
  • Mondayโ€“Friday availability required

  • Must be available between 7:30 AM โ€“ 4:30 PM

Requirements
  • Completed AA degree or higher, OR currently enrolled in college (required)

  • Experience working with children or tutoring preferred
    ย 
  • Comfortable tutoring Elementary Math and Civics
    ย 
  • Ability to manage small groups independently
    ย 
  • Comfortable working in a classroom setting
    ย 
  • Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check (District Background)
    ย 

Key Responsibilities
  • Tutor small groups of Elementary students without direct teacher supervision
    ย 
  • Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials
    ย 
  • Create an engaging and welcoming learning environment
    ย 
  • Support positive student behavior and participation
    ย 
  • Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard
    ย 
  • Assist with student assessments when requested
    ย 
  • Escort students to and from designated areas on campus
    ย 
  • Clock in/out daily using Deputy
    ย 
  • Complete additional duties as assigned
