Job description

Job Title: Construction Project Manager - Federal/Aviation

Job Description

Join our dynamic team to lead and manage construction projects, ensuring that all objectives align with our strategic goals. You will collaborate with the Project Executive and Superintendent to develop and monitor the master schedule and staffing plans. Your role involves overseeing project documentation and managing project financials, including billing, cash flow, and profitability. You will also prepare and present monthly Job Status Reports and supervise Project Engineers and Superintendents to ensure responsibilities are met.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Project Executive and Superintendent to develop and monitor the master schedule and staffing plans.
  • Assist in tracking the Project Success Plan to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Oversee project documentation including contracts, insurance, submittals, RFIs, schedules, change orders, meeting minutes, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Manage project financials including billing, cash flow, profitability, reporting, projections, and final close-out payments.
  • Prepare and present monthly Job Status Reports.
  • Supervise Project Engineers and Superintendents, ensuring responsibilities are met.
  • Conduct employee performance reviews as needed.
  • Foster a positive work environment through clear, respectful communication and leadership by example.
  • Develop and implement project quality control programs to meet contract standards.
  • Promote jobsite safety, conduct audits, and ensure subcontractor compliance with company and federal protocols.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with owners, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Work with the Preconstruction Department to pursue new project opportunities.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Experience working at a General Contractor (GC).
  • Experience with supporting federal programs or City of Chicago construction programs is a plus.
  • Proficiency in industry software including Procore, Bluebeam, P6, Viewpoint, and e-Builder.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and SharePoint.

Work Environment

Project Managers will report to their field office but have the flexibility to also work from the main office at times. There is no travel to project sites. The schedule is 3 days in-office and 2 days working from home. The projects involve supporting residential sound-proof window installations near O'Hare and Midway. Public work is challenging and often requires more than 40 hours per week. However, there is an opportunity to move to another project division if desired.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $64.90/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
