  • Main Responsibilities: Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus
  • Must-Have vs. Nice-to-Have Skills: Network Segmentation, SASE, NAC
  • Typical Day-to-Day Tasks: Working with Network Team to implement NAC, Segmentation and SASE. Networking Engineering tasks and documentation.

Other Certifications or Clearances Required? CCNA/CCNP preferred, technical experience in lieu of certifications will be considered

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The primary focus of these roles is to perform patching and upgrading of Cisco network equipment (routers and switches), conduct vulnerability assessments, and support the design and implementation of secure, resilient network infrastructure. This includes advanced responsibilities across Cisco ACI, network segmentation strategies, and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Design, implement, and manage the organization s network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, SDN, Cisco ACI fabrics, and OT networks ensuring high availability, performance, scalability, and reliability.
  2. Deploy, maintain, and optimize Cisco network technologies, including routers, switches, wireless access points, and ACI components, while ensuring secure operations through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and lifecycle upgrades.
  3. Enhance network security and compliance by developing, implementing, and enforcing policies related to segmentation, NAC enforcement, and industry-aligned standards and regulatory requirements.
  4. Implement and maintain network segmentation strategies, including micro-segmentation and policy-based controls across ACI and traditional environments.
  5. Administer NAC technologies (e.g., Cisco ISE), ensuring secure device authentication, access enforcement, and continuous posture assessments.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5 7 years of experience planning, designing, implementing, and supporting new and existing network systems.
  • Extensive handson experience with Cisco routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Strong background in patching and upgrading Cisco network equipment (routers/switches).
  • Proficiency in router/switch configuration and breakfix troubleshooting.
  • Required: 8 years of experience in network management with a focus on Cisco technologies, WAN, SDN, and ACI environments.
  • Experience implementing network segmentation and NAC enforcement.

Preferred:

  • Experience with data center architectures, OT network environments, and work in the utility or similarly regulated industries.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

Preferred:

  • CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent professional certifications.
  • Additional certifications in Cisco ACI, Cisco ISE, or SDN networking are advantageous.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES (KSA)

Required:

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

TECO is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to work onsite in Tampa, FL. Key responsibilities include:

  • Primary functions: Patching and upgrading Cisco routers and switches, vulnerability remediation, and maintaining secure operational readiness.
  • Design, implement, and support network infrastructure across Power Plants, Solar Fields, and Control Centers, including Cisco routers, switches, wireless APs, and ACI fabrics.
  • Perform network device replacements, upgrades, and lifecycle refreshes across multiple sites.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams for seamless deployment of server, storage, and infrastructure components.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to network infrastructure, DDoS protection, NAC, segmentation policies, and NetScaler load balancers.
  • Provide project leadership and collaborate with peers on network security, segmentation strategy, and compliance initiatives.
