What is a CIPP?

CIPP stands for Certified Information Privacy Professional. This is a certification offered by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. With this distinction, you can provide consulting services about privacy laws and data protection policies that may impact a business. Meeting the qualifications for becoming a CIPP usually involves passing an exam and memorizing the responsibilities and duties of this position, as well as staying current with your skills to protect privacy in a changing technological environment. CIPP should not be confused with cured-in-place pipe jobs, which have the same acronym and refer to a technique used for repairing existing pipelines without digging trenches.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), you need a strong understanding of privacy laws, data protection regulations, and compliance requirements, typically validated by earning the CIPP certification from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Familiarity with privacy management software, data mapping tools, and legal research platforms is important. Excellent analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong communication skills help you interpret regulations and advise organizations effectively. These competencies are essential for ensuring organizations remain compliant, protecting sensitive data, and minimizing legal and reputational risks.

What are some common challenges faced by CIPP professionals when collaborating with cross-functional teams?

CIPP professionals often work closely with legal, IT, and business units to ensure that privacy requirements are met throughout the organization. A common challenge is translating complex privacy regulations into practical guidelines that are understandable and actionable for team members with varying backgrounds. Additionally, balancing compliance needs with business objectives can require careful negotiation and compromise. Effective communication and relationship-building skills are essential for overcoming these challenges and fostering a culture of privacy across departments.

What is the difference between Cipp vs CIPM?

Professionals often pursue Cipp to gain foundational privacy knowledge, and CIPM for leadership roles in privacy management. Both certifications are highly valued in legal, compliance, and data protection environments, but they serve different career paths within the privacy industry.

As a leader in a rapidly growing industry, Nu-Pipe is experiencing significant expansion—outpacing overall market growth. We are committed to staying at the forefront of technology in a stable, recession-resistant sector, delivering reliable, efficient services to our clients.

Position Overview

Nu-Pipe is seeking an experienced CIPP Foreman to lead daily field activities and supervise crews performing trenchless pipe rehabilitation projects. This role works directly with Superintendents to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality CIPP installations.

The ideal candidate has hands-on CIPP experience and strong leadership skills with the ability to direct crews, operate equipment, troubleshoot issues, and maintain production goals.

What You'll Do

  • Supervise daily activities of CIPP installation crews.
  • Lead installation activities including pipe preparation, liner installation, curing, and finishing work.
  • Assign tasks and provide direction to crew members.
  • Operate and monitor CIPP equipment including pumps, generators, and curing systems.
  • Ensure work is completed according to project specifications.
  • Perform quality checks throughout installation processes.
  • Train and coach field employees.
  • Maintain jobsite safety and enforce company policies.
  • Complete daily reports, inspections, and production documentation.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and manpower needs.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment and installation challenges.
  • Travel to job sites as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of CIPP, trenchless, underground utility, or heavy construction experience.
  • Previous crew leadership or foreman experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of CIPP installation processes.
  • Ability to operate construction equipment and tools.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work extended hours and travel.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical labor.
  • Valid driver's license preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing CIPP installation crews.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification.
  • Confined space certification.
  • CDL is a plus.

Work Schedule

  • 10 days on / 4 days off rotation schedule
  • This is a field-based position. Employees report directly to assigned project locations and may travel throughout the region based on project needs.

Perks of the Job

  • Competitive pay
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Opportunities for training and career advancement
  • Stable, year-round work with a growing company
  • Supportive team environment
