  • Strategic Contribution - Help create an identity for CIBC in the US market for northbound flow and contribute to the strategic direction of the Equity desk, especially in an AI-enhanced environment.

  • Trading Execution & Risk Management - An ability to trade different styles such as risk-arbitrage and special situations, traditional cash/block trading and generate trading ideas based on research sales input and desk color.

  • Product Development & Integration - Act as a business analyst for technology, supporting the development and enhancement of trading products, and collaborate closely with the Program Trading Team.

  • Innovation & Analytics - Leverage generative AI, Bloomberg, EMS & OMS platforms, and analytical tools such as Excel, Python, and Tableau to drive insights and performance.

Who you are

  • You have deep industry experience. You bring at least 8 years of experience in institutional equities, with a proven track record covering US accounts trading Canadian equities.

  • You're a relationship builder. You have strong, established relationships with US institutional clients and excel at building trust and credibility.

  • You're a strategic thinker. You contribute to the broader direction of the Equity desk and understand how to position CIBC for growth in the US market.

  • You're technically adept. You have hands-on experience with generative AI, Bloomberg, EMS & OMS platforms, and are comfortable using Excel; experience with Python and Tableau is an asset.

  • You're collaborative and adaptive. You thrive in a team environment, integrate seamlessly with program trading teams, and adapt quickly to evolving business needs.

  • You have a strong educational foundation. You hold a Bachelor's degree in STEM, Business, Economics, or Philosophy; an MBA, MSc, or CFA designation (considered an asset)

  • Values matter to you. You bring your real self to work, and you live our values - trust, teamwork, and accountability.
