About the Program

Our Summer Internship is a 10-12 week program designed to provide hands-on experience and exposure to the dynamic world of commercial banking and technology. As an intern, you'll work alongside experienced professionals, participate in real projects, and gain insight into how technology drives innovation and client solutions at CIBC.

What you'll be doing

CIBC's Commercial Banking team is dedicated to supporting the financial needs of our business clients through expert advice, innovative solutions, and relationship-focused service. As an intern with one of our Commercial Banking teams, you'll support credit analysis, financial research, and client service activities. You'll work closely with Relationship Managers and Credit Analysts to help deliver high-quality insights and service to our clients. You'll also contribute to projects such as market research, data management, and process improvement initiatives, gaining hands-on experience in commercial banking. This internship is designed to help you build your skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while learning from experienced professionals. Please note that this is a general application for the CIBC U.S. Summer Intern Program within Commercial Banking and Commercial Real Estate, and more details on the team and required skills will be shared during interviews.

How you'll succeed

  • Support credit analysis - Assist with financial analysis, credit reviews, and report preparation to support client needs and internal decision-making.
  • Collaborate with partners - Work closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts, and other team members to support client service and project delivery.
  • Contribute to team initiatives - Participate in market research, data clean-up, and business case reviews that help drive results for clients and the bank.
  • Build your knowledge - Learn new systems, tools, and processes, and apply feedback to strengthen your skills and performance.
  • Deliver with accuracy - Maintain a high level of attention to detail and help ensure quality and consistency across deliverables.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected hourly rate of $25.00 per hour for thel market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our intern's needs; including 401(k) contribution, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave and Vacation), and Holidays, in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
