What You'll Be Doing
The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides integrated capital markets products, investment banking advisory services, corporate lending, and top-ranked research to corporate, government, institutional and retail clients around the world. Our goal is to be the leading Capital Markets franchise in Canada and the lead relationship bank for key clients globally. CIBC Capital Markets consists of three lines of business; Global Markets, Global Investment Banking and Corporate Banking.

Who You Are
  • Education & Industry Experience. Minimum 5+ years related experience; MBA, CFA or other relevant professional designation preferred with strong knowledge of Capital Markets products. CFA charter holder or working towards a similar designation. Bachelor's or master's degree in Commerce, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering or Economics. Capital Markets. Knowledge of programming languages such as VBA and python experience required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a keen interest in financial markets.
  • CSC and CPH considered an asset; must be completed immediately upon employment. Derivative Fundamentals and Options License Course must be completed immediately upon employment
  • Relevant sales experience with a proven record of accomplishment of results in OTC Interest Rate Derivatives.
  • Strong overall knowledge of Capital Markets with sufficient knowledge of the financial services industry / regulatory environment
  • Technical Skills. Familiarity with Fixed Income trading platforms (e.g., Bloomberg TOMS) and expert Excel user. Solid development skills in C#, Python, SQL Server, VBA.
  • Thrive in Trading Floor Environment. Required to make frequent decisions in a fast paced, open concept work environment; ability to handle tight deadlines and heavy workload
  • Collaborative. Solid verbal and written communication skills. An ability to effectively manage interactions across various functional groups. Ability to draft comprehensive presentations using advanced frameworks in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $115,000 - $400,000 for the New York, NY market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit's incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component. CIBC offers a full range of benefits and programs to meet our employee's needs; including Medical, Dental, Vision, Health Savings Account, Life Insurance, Disability, and Other Insurance Plans, Paid Time Off (including Sick Leave, Parental Leave, and Vacation), Holidays, and 401(k), in addition to other special perks reserved for our team members.
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location. Additional total compensation and benefits details will be provided during the hiring process.
