Children's Minister - West Orange Church of Christ

The West Orange Church of Christ is seeking a Children’s Minister to lead and grow a Christ-centered ministry that helps children and their families build a lasting faith. This role focuses on developing strong Biblical foundations, fostering meaningful relationships, partnering with families, equipping volunteers, and creating impactful experiences for children. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about child development and spiritual formation, be enthusiastic and creative about implementing ideas, and have both skills to lead and collaborate with others to further the mission and vision of the church.

About Us
West Orange Church of Christ is a welcoming, Bible-focused church of over 200 members gathering weekly in Winter Garden, Florida, with 30-40 kids from birth through fifth grade. We are experiencing growth, particularly among young families. We have strong church support, along with the necessary facilities and resources, to further expand our Children’s Ministry and deepen our impact within our families and the surrounding community.

Key Responsibilities

1) Build a Strong Biblical Foundation

Plan, lead, and oversee all ministry programming for children from birth through fifth grade, providing for sound Biblical teaching at an age-appropriate level within a safe and welcoming children’s ministry environment.

2) Foster Relationships with Children and Families

Build strong relationships with West Orange children and families. Collaborate with parents and encourage involvement in the life of the Children’s Ministry while supporting spiritual growth at home.

3) Plan and Execute Events

Coordinate programs, activities, and events for children and their families that provide opportunities for service, outreach, fellowship, and fun. Work with the Ministry Team, office staff, and ministry leaders to implement church-wide events.

4) Lead and Develop Ministry Volunteers

Recruit, train, and develop both adult and teen volunteers, providing the support and resources necessary for effective service to West Orange children and families while strengthening an established volunteer culture.

5) Additional Responsibilities

Ensure that appropriate safety and security measures are in place, administrative systems are up-to-date and efficient, and church policies and procedures are followed.

Carry out other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Agreement with the West Orange Church of Christ Statements of Belief

A lifestyle that reflects biblical integrity and a love for God and His people

Bachelor’s Degree in Children’s Ministry or related field and applicable experience OR 3-5 years of relevant Children’s Ministry experience

Reporting Structure

Salary and Compensation

Salary range: $50,000-$60,000, based on experience and qualifications

Conference attendance and continuing education reimbursed up to $1,000 per year
