Job description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Analyst I

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Family: Information Technology

Department: Business Assurance

Location: Corporate Office (Fort Wayne, IN)


JOB SUMMARY
Evaluate all aspects of web application functionality with supervision to validate application quality,
system integrity, appropriate fulfillment of user requirements, and overall user experience.


POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Perform manual testing including exploratory, functional, non-functional, regression, and system
    integration testing for client-facing applications and back-end systems.
  • Design, write, execute, and maintain test plans and automated test scripts.
  • Assist with release management activities and communication.
  • Assist project team during acceptance criteria and definition of done discussions.
  • Participate in project planning activities to determine testing scope and estimates.
  • Identify, report, prioritize, and track defects and evaluate fixes.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, communicating effectively with project managers and team
    members.
  • Utilize tools and procedures to monitor and supplement testing (manual and automated).
  • Compile test results and communicate with project team members.
  • Complete other projects as assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Demonstrate knowledge of software QA methodologies, development life cycles, principles, and
    processes.
  • Possess a basic understanding of Agile development methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).
  • Demonstrate familiarity with writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
  • Must be detail-oriented, demonstrate clarity, and work well as a team member.
  • Must possess basic SQL skills.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Effectively interface with external contacts, Brotherhood employees, managers, and department
    staff members.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
List Degree Requirement, Years' Experience, and Certifications

  • Associate's degree in IT, business, or equivalent degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, business, or an equivalent degree is desired.
  • One or more years working in IT, software testing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certifications within the software testing discipline or equivalent is desired.
  • Exposure to and understanding the insurance industry is desired.
