Campus Groups and Connections Pastor
We are The Point Church of beautiful Virginia, and we're looking for an authentic, secure Campus Groups and Connections Pastor at our Pantops (broadcast) campus in Charlottesville.
Our mission is to Love God, Love People, and Love Life (Matthew 22:36-40 & 16:25), and we strive to make disciples who do the same. The Point started in 2009, grew exponentially by God's hand, and we now meet in person at four campuses and online. God has given us the vision to have an ongoing presence in 50 communities, 50 cities, and in 50 countries in our first 50 years as a church. It's a big vision, but any vision that doesn't include reaching the world for Jesus is too small. That's why we need YOU to plow, plant, and water the soil for God's growth in the Pantops campus.
Your role will be to lead the way in Next Level Hospitality from Street to Seat for every guest, ensuring environments and events reflect our Three Strategies. You will create and foster Connections that move people from unknown to engaged in The Intentional Life. You will lead campus group leaders and coaches and serve to support the success of the campus and campus team.
What your Campus looks like: Average of 1500 attendees across three Sunday morning services; a team of campus staff members. A beautiful and inviting facility built in 2020 in the Pantops neighborhood; Monday-Thursday regular office/meeting hours with additional scheduling based on ministry needs; weekly touchpoint meetings with your Campus Pastor.

What will this role look like?
Execution of Street-to-Seat Guest Service Experience
  • Identify, recruit, serve, develop, and empower Guest Service Leaders
  • Execute Next-Level hospitality initiatives in each environment
  • Ensure Dream Team Leaders understand and can effectively communicate the environment Play Cards
  • Be the Sunday Morning Quarterback
  • Responsible for ensuring Next Steps and Connections are obvious, accessible & appropriate

Campus Connections
  • Oversee and manage follow-up and connections. FTG, Connection Point, GT, email
  • Oversee hand-off to the appropriate leader for Next Steps in The Intentional Life
  • Manage and support the campus team in recruiting, onboarding, and training of Dream Team
  • Support Campus Pastor in identifying Dream Team members and leaders

Groups and Care
  • Responsible for Campus Small Groups - Leadership & Administration
  • Provides Pastoral Care and Spiritual Guidance to the congregation
  • Responsible to recruit, identify, and develop group leaders alongside CP
  • Responsible to train New Group Leaders and support bi-annual Group Leader Training.

Manage Special Events
  • Work with Campus Pastor to execute the vision for Events and Special Sundays
  • In collaboration with the Campus Pastor, support and develop relationships with community service organizations.
  • Implement the vision for reaching the community in step with the Campus Pastor by executing logistics and serving alongside the CP and the DT.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of REACH events

Manage Facilities
  • Manage Facilities Calendar (Groups, Events, etc)
  • Coordinate repair/maintenance needs with the Facilities Manager
  • Ensure the facility is ready for Sunday mornings and special events
  • Ensure vendors/services are compensated.

Other Duties
  • Oversee Growth Track
  • Administration/ROCK management
  • Support Campus Pastor in executing The Point's Strategy

What are you like?
  • You have at least 3 years of ministry experience on staff leading teams and working with young people.
  • Ordained minister.
  • Deep commitment to fulfilling Christ's mission, empowering others to overcome challenges with gospel-centered solutions.
  • Demonstrated success in leading volunteer-driven programs or community outreach efforts.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, adept at multitasking, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines. Strong execution and planning capabilities are essential.
  • Proven leadership experience, capable of mobilizing and nurturing volunteers. Outstanding interpersonal skills to inspire collective action.
  • Adaptive and creative problem-solving abilities, thriving in dynamic settings with innovative solutions.
  • Experience in hospitality and event management would be an asset.
  • Spiritual maturity consistent with The Point's beliefs, exhibiting a life devoted to spiritual growth and Christian ethics.

In addition to Sunday services, the position is Monday-Thursday regular office/meeting hours with additional scheduling based on ministry needs; weekly touchpoint meetings with your Campus Pastor, Leadership Staff, and others. This full-time role demands flexibility, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate volunteer schedules and events. Based at The Point's Pantops (broadcast) campus, occasional local travel for community engagement activities is required.
