Company Summary


Grace Fellowship is a Christ-centered, non-denominational, Christian church in the Capital District that believes in the authority of the Bible. All of the Church’s teaching focuses on integrating the truth of God's Word into our daily lives. Grace Fellowship’s mission is “to glorify God by making more and better disciples.” We believe that God, in His wisdom, has chosen us to be an integral part of helping to fulfill this mission. It’s Grace Fellowship’s goal to see our community continually moving forward in their journey towards being Christ-centered. Grace Fellowship has 3 locations: Latham, Halfmoon, and Saratoga.


Position Summary


The Childcare Provider provides a safe, attentive, and nurturing environment to ensure a positive experience for children and families. This role is responsible for actively engaging with children in age-appropriate activities, maintaining a clean and secure childcare environment, and following all church safety and child protection policies. 


Essential Functions


  • Supervise children during church childcare events, ensuring their safety and adherence to all established safety and security policies
  • Engage consistently with children throughout the event through age-appropriate play, activities, and interaction
  • Maintain the childcare room by picking up, cleaning, and restoring the space to its original condition at the conclusion of each event


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)


Required KSAs

  • Knowledge of early childcare safely practices 
  • Basic understanding of child development and age-appropriate behavior
  • Ability to engage children through play, activities, and positive interaction
  • Strong observation skills to monitor children and identify potential safety concerns
  • Effective communication skills with children, parents/guardians, and staff
  • Ability to supervise multiple children at one time while maintaining a safe environment
  • Ability to respond effectively in the case of unexpected situations or emergencies

Desired KSAs

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience

Working Conditions 


  • Work is performed at our Halfmoon and Latham campuses, indoors in a classroom setting, with occasional outdoor activities 
  • Evening work on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and/or Thursday mornings and occasional weekend work required
  • Requires interaction with children of various ages, parents/guardians, and staff
  • Adherence to church safety and security policies is required at all times
  • Environment may include moderate noise levels due to children’s activities


Physical & Mental Demands


  • Ability to lift, carry, or assist children and children’s materials, up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to actively supervise children for the duration of childcare events, including walking, standing, carrying and moving throughout the room
  • Sufficient vision, hearing, and communication ability to monitor children and ensure safety
  • Ability to sit on the floor, bend, kneel, and reach to interact with children and assist with activities
