Key Job Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage invoices, payment processing, revenue tracking, reimbursements, and discrepancy resolution while maintaining organized records.
  • Deposit Management: Manage deposits, and reconciliations in compliance with internal controls.
  • Bank & Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and flagging unresolved items for resolution.
  • Journal Entries & General Ledger: Prepare journal entries, maintain account integrity, and support accurate month- and year-end close. Ensure all transactions are posted in the correct period and to the correct fund or program.
  • Payroll Support: Assist with payroll and required tax form preparation as appropriate.
  • Tax & Compliance: Support 1099 preparation, audits, and ensure adherence to financial policies and tax-exempt requirements.
  • Financial Records & Reporting: Generate reports in line with retention policies.
  • Fixed Assets: Track assets, record depreciation, and reconciling asset records to the general ledger.
  • Administrative Support: Maintain consistent bookkeeping practices across all locations. Train and guide location staff on expense documentation and proper coding while ensuring timely submission for processing and month-end.

What We’re Looking For

  • Be a fully initiated Catholic in communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally loving out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041 – 2043).
  • Align with the values and mission of the Catholic Church in an Apostolic Age.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong accuracy in financial recordkeeping and data entry.
  • Organized and able to manage bookkeeping across multiple locations.
  • Handles confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Reliable, self-directed, and consistently meets recurring deadlines.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with staff and finance teams.
  • Adaptable and solution-oriented in a dynamic environment.
  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping experience, with demonstrated proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, and journal entries.
  • Prior experience in a non-profit organization or faith-based setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting multiple cost centers, locations, or entities simultaneously preferred.
  • Proficiency in ParishSoft, QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or similar accounting software required.
