Quality Control Technician - Spectral - 2nd Shift

Onsite – Bellows Falls, VT

Job Summary/Objective:

The Quality Control Technician – Spectral, performs appropriate tests and measurements on raw materials, in process work, and optical filters to ensure quality standards are consistently met.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Perform QC tests/inspections as identified on the job traveler. These regularly include:
    • Spectral analysis
    • Pinhole checks
    • Surface quality inspections including scratch/dig
    • Light leaks
    • Surface flatness measurements
  • Accept and reject product based on test results as compared to product specifications
  • Perform MRB dispositions for nonconforming product
  • Provide quality documentation as per customer requirements, including first article certificate analysis and certificate of compliance
  • Perform verification and calibration of inspection measuring test equipment, as assigned
  • Work cooperatively with Manufacturing Process Developers to resolve issues related to Chroma internal job instructions
  • Identify and report quality problems or trends
  • Be organized when helping to solve problems, supporting project teams, or instituting goals

Required Education, Experience, and Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Ability to effectively utilize MS Office, email, and relevant G suite programs
  • General math knowledge
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to visually inspect raw materials, in process work and optical filters

Preferred Education, Experience, and Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Experience with optics or quality control
