Job description

TCT Ministries and Affiliates is a faith-based, non-profit Christian organization dedicated to sharing the Gospel and serving others with integrity, excellence, and compassion. We are seeking a Technical Directorwho shares our Christian values and is committed to stewardship, accountability, and service. This is a fully on-site position located in Akron, Ohio. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Job Summary

Technical Director is responsible for the technical execution of each broadcast, ensuring smooth video switching, graphics integration, and overall technical quality during live or recorded productions.


Essential Functions

  • Technical Director selects sources such as cameras, graphics, and pre-recorded content during productions to create visually compelling broadcasts with smooth transitions and professional execution.
  • Director communicates with and guides camera operators and other technical staff in shot selection, framing, and execution, ensuring that each shot aligns with the creative vision and maintains continuity throughout the production.
  • Strong attention to detail with precision in cuts, transitions, and syncing audio to maintain a polished final product.


Other Duties

  • Verify that all cameras and equipment are functioning and properly positioned. Prepare the studio for various program formats, adjusting camera placements and compositions as needed.
  • As videographer, captures video images of interviews, testimonials, and product segments both in the studio and on location.
  • Edit compilation videos, roll-ins, special video packages, and product promotions. Also, edit b-roll footage for programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Daily review and proofreading of submitted questions for Ask the Pastor, ensuring proper spelling and grammar before the live broadcast.


Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education in media production or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Adobe Content Creator & Graphic Designer Professional Certificate preferred
  • Church or Ministry Experience preferred


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud video editing software such as Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills are essential. Clear understanding and ability to implement feedback from clients or supervisors.
  • Motor Vehicle Operation: This position may require you to use company vehicles.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and adapt in editing technique as technology evolves.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic design of lower thirds, titles, and overlays.
  • Strong attention to detail with precision in cuts, transitions, and syncing audio to maintain a polished final product.
  • Knowledge of various video compression standards such as H.264, ProRes, Mxf for output to various platforms.
  • Ability to composite green screen footage effectively and create realistic visual effects.
  • Ability to customize video content for optimal performance across various social media platforms.
  • Project Management and organizational skills of timelines, assets, and backups for efficiency.


Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Ability to stand, sit, talk, and hear as needed for the role.
  • Use hands/fingers for operation of equipment and tools.
  • Close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception required.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds, carry, and reach.
  • Occasional travel and outdoor conditions may be required based on production needs.
