What is a chiropractor?

Chiropractors are healthcare professionals who specialize in diagnosing and treating conditions related to the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine. They use hands-on spinal manipulation and other alternative treatments to help relieve pain, improve mobility, and support the body's natural ability to heal itself. Chiropractors often address issues such as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and joint problems. They may also offer advice on lifestyle, exercise, and ergonomics to promote overall health.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a chiropractor, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Chiropractor, you need a Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree, state licensure, and a solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic techniques. Familiarity with chiropractic adjustment tools, patient management systems, and compliance with healthcare regulations is also essential. Exceptional interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to educate patients make someone stand out in this role. These competencies ensure effective patient care, foster trust, and support successful practice management within the healthcare field.

What do chiropractors do?

Chiropractors are trained in the musculoskeletal system and work with patients to relieve back, muscle, and joint pain. They are experts in spine alignment, as well as in alternative treatment methods. In this role, you meet with clients, discuss what issues they currently have, and provide treatment options for alleviating their pain. Treatments may include muscle or spine adjustments physiotherapies, such as ultrasound, electrical muscle stimulation, and massage therapy. After each treatment, you explain exercises and stretching techniques that the patient should follow at home as part of their care plan. You are also responsible for documenting and filing all observations and treatment procedures for future reference.

What are some common challenges chiropractors face when building a patient base in a new practice?

Chiropractors often encounter challenges such as establishing trust with new patients, differentiating their services in a competitive healthcare market, and effectively marketing their practice. Building strong relationships with local healthcare providers and engaging in community outreach can help increase referrals. Additionally, maintaining consistent patient communication and delivering high-quality care are essential for encouraging repeat visits and positive word-of-mouth. New chiropractors should also be prepared to manage the business operations of their practice, such as scheduling and billing.

What is the difference between Chiropractor vs Physical Therapist?

How hard is it to get a job as a chiropractor?

Getting a job as a chiropractor can be competitive, often requiring a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, state licensure, and relevant clinical experience. Job availability depends on location, demand, and individual qualifications, with opportunities typically found in clinics, hospitals, or private practices.

Is a chiropractor career worth it?

A chiropractor career involves diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal issues primarily through manual therapy and spinal adjustments. It requires completing a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, obtaining licensure, and developing strong patient communication skills. The profession offers opportunities for private practice or employment in healthcare settings, with job outlook influenced by demand for alternative and complementary medicine.

Job description

XCHIROPRACTOR โ€” FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME

Grand Junction, Colorado | The Joint Chiropractic โ€“ Grand Junction Rimrock

Build your career. Serve your community. Enjoy where you live.

Are you a chiropractor who wants to practice great chiropractic care without the headaches of running your own office?

Do you enjoy working with people, adjusting patients, building relationships, and helping people make chiropractic care part of their lifestyle?

If so, we want to meet you.

The Joint Chiropractic โ€“ Grand Junction Rimrock is looking for a motivated, personable Doctor of Chiropractic to join our growing team. We are open to both full-time and part-time chiropractors, including experienced DCs and new graduates who are ready to build their careers.

WHY GRAND JUNCTION?

Grand Junction isn't just a place to workโ€”it's a place to live.

Located on Colorado's Western Slope, Grand Junction offers an incredible combination of outdoor adventure, affordability, community, and quality of life.

Spend your days helping patients and your time off doing what you love:

Hiking and exploring the Colorado National Monument

 World-class mountain biking

Easy access to skiing and mountain recreation

Camping, climbing, rafting, hunting, fishing and more

More sunshine and a lower cost of living than many Colorado mountain communities

Our patient base includes athletes, families, working professionals, active adults, and retirees who believe in taking care of their health and making chiropractic care part of their routine.

And we're growing.

WHAT MAKES THIS OPPORTUNITY DIFFERENT?

At The Joint Chiropractic, you can focus on what you became a chiropractor to doโ€”take care of patients.

Our model provides convenient, affordable chiropractic care without requiring patients to navigate the traditional insurance-based system.

That means:

Less paperwork. Less administrative burden. More time adjusting and connecting with patients.

You'll work alongside a supportive clinic team while practicing in a modern, fast-paced environment with a steady flow of patients.

We believe chiropractic care shouldn't only be something people seek when they're hurting.

It should be part of a healthy lifestyle.

That's the message we bring to our patients every day.

THE DC WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for a chiropractor who is:

Confident and skilled in their adjusting abilities

Comfortable working with a diverse patient population

Friendly, approachable, and genuinely enjoys people

Passionate about wellness and routine chiropractic care

Comfortable in a busy, high-volume environment

A strong communicator and patient educator

A team player who wants to contribute to a positive clinic culture

Excited about growing professionally and personally

New graduates are absolutely encouraged to apply.

Experienced chiropractors are encouraged to apply as well.

If you are a DC who wants to grow, learn, and become part of a teamโ€”not simply clock in and clock outโ€”we'd like to hear from you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Your primary focus will be delivering exceptional chiropractic care.

Your day may include:

Providing high-quality chiropractic adjustments

Primarily utilizing diversified adjusting techniques

Performing patient consultations and examinations as appropriate

Educating patients about chiropractic and wellness

Helping patients understand the value of consistent, routine care

Maintaining accurate patient records

Building relationships with patients and becoming part of their wellness journey

Working with the Wellness Coordinator and clinic team

Contributing to a positive, professional patient experience

You'll see a variety of patients and conditions, giving you the opportunity to adjust, communicate, educate, and grow every day.

WHAT YOU BRING

Required:

Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree from an accredited chiropractic college

Valid Colorado chiropractic license, or ability to obtain one

Passing NBCE Parts Iโ€“IV or applicable recent SPEC examination

Eligibility for malpractice coverage

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Most importantly: We want someone who cares about people.

SCHEDULE

Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities available.

We have flexibility for the right candidate and are particularly interested in DCs who can provide afternoon, evening, and/or Saturday coverage.

Let's talk about what works for you.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Competitive compensation based on experience + bonus potential

Additional benefits include:

Company-paid malpractice insurance

Flexible full-time or part-time opportunities

Established patient flow

Supportive clinic staff

Professional growth opportunities

Opportunity to grow with a developing clinic

A chance to build lasting relationships within the Grand Junction community

ABOUT THE JOINT CHIROPRACTIC

The Joint Chiropractic is changing the way people access chiropractic care by making high-quality care convenient, affordable, and accessible.

With nearly 1,000 locations and more than 12 million patient visits annually, The Joint has become one of the largest chiropractic organizations in the country.

But our clinic isn't just a number.

We're local. We're community-focused. And we're building something special right here in Grand Junction.

THIS COULD BE YOUR NEXT MOVE.

Maybe you're a new graduate looking for the right place to start.

Maybe you're an experienced DC who is tired of the administrative side of practice.

Maybe you're looking for a part-time position that gives you flexibility.

Or maybe you're ready for a new chapter in one of Colorado's best communities.

Whatever your reason, we'd love to talk.

If you're a chiropractor who wants to practice chiropractic, build relationships, help people, and enjoy where you live, this may be the opportunity you've been looking for.
