What is a doctor of chiropractic?

A Doctor of Chiropractic, often referred to as a chiropractor, is a healthcare professional who specializes in diagnosing and treating neuromuscular disorders, with an emphasis on treatment through manual adjustment or manipulation of the spine. Chiropractors aim to reduce pain and improve the functionality of patients, as well as educate them on how to account for their own health through exercise and other therapies. They commonly treat conditions such as back pain, neck pain, joint issues, and headaches, and may also provide lifestyle advice for overall well-being.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a doctor of chiropractic?

To thrive as a Doctor of Chiropractic, you need a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree, state licensure, and a deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, and spinal health. Proficiency with diagnostic tools, electronic health records (EHRs), and chiropractic adjustment techniques is essential.
