Job description

CNC Machinist (2nd Shift) position available with +$3/hour shift differential and a four day workweek. Plus paid lunch breaks and no weekends!

ATC Automation is hiring a CNC Machinist for our Cookeville, TN location. The CNC Machinist programs, sets up and operates numerical control machines or machining centers to perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, and boring on metallic and non-metallic work pieces, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability of materials, and mathematics. You'll collaborate with a team that values precision, teamwork, and continuous improvement-helping deliver high-performance solutions that advance the future of automation.

  • Review mechanical drawings to determine procedures, sequences and dimensions.
  • Manipulates controls and enters commands.
  • Calculates and sets machine controls.

Education Requirements

Physical Demands and Conditions

  • Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights of up to 35 feet.
  • Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in various conditions.
  • Exposure to high noise levels, moving/rotating equipment, fumes, dust, oil and other fluids.
  • Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently.
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Near acuity with or without accommodation.
  • HEARING Ability: Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose.
