Lincoln County School District is accepting online applications for an Early Childhood Teaching Assistant in the Early Learning Center at Crestview Heights.
The primary purpose of this position is to assist with development and implementation of program and activities for children from birth through age 5; ensuring appropriateness of program activities and developmental level of children served.
Essential job duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensures appropriate participation of other adults and high school students in program activities.
  • Helps to maintain records such as sign-in sheets, billing forms, and daily care sheets.
  • Assists staff with clerical duties as required.
  • Maintains verbal and written communication with parents, staff and program coordinator.
  • Willing to attend ongoing education related to infant and toddler development and care.
  • Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
  • Participates in developing and implementing behavior management plan for individual students.
  • Works with program coordinator to develop educational material.
  • Assists, as directed, in communicating with parents regarding student's progress in general.
  • Demonstrates professional relationships with program participants and colleagues including mentoring and directing high school students
  • Assists in the development and implementation of children's curriculum.
  • Assists in conducting anecdotal observations, child screenings, and individualized child planning/goals.
  • Maintains positive guidance techniques with children and high school students.

Required Qualifications:
  • Work experience with young children ages three years through six years.
  • Ability to work on floor, pick-up and carry young children.
  • Ability to plan and implement appropriate daily activities for children ages 3-5.
  • Ability to obtain Infant-Toddler First Aid/CPR certification, Food Handlers, and Criminal Background Registry

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Qualifying experience in a certified early childhood education facility or comparable program.
  • Training or college level courses focused on ages 3-5.
  • Experience working with high school students.

Position available - 6 hours daily
Starting Salary: $20.12 - $22.21/hour
Full-Time Benefits for 6+ hour positions: Medical, Dental, Vision, Employer paid PERS.
Qualified applicants will be asked for an interview and must provide a resume and at least 2 letters of recommendation. Upon selection, employees will be required to complete a background clearance including fingerprinting.
