Job description

Children Across America is looking for responsible and enthusiastic high school students to volunteer as Youth Mentors for our Summer S.T.R.E.A.M. Program.

This is a great opportunity for students who need community service hours for school, graduation requirements, National Honor Society, honor roll, or other volunteer hour requirements.

Youth Mentors will work alongside adult staff and volunteers to help younger children ages 4–11 with hands-on S.T.R.E.A.M. activities, including science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, math, coding, robotics, games, and creative projects.

Volunteers do not need prior teaching experience. We are looking for students who are patient, kind, dependable, and enjoy helping younger children learn, create, and have fun.

Program Dates:

July 6 – August 14

Monday – Friday

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Volunteers are not required to attend every day, but we do ask for a consistent schedule when possible.

Mandatory Volunteer Orientation:

All volunteers must attend one orientation session before volunteering directly with children.

Friday, June 26 at 11:00 AM

or

Saturday, June 27 at 11:00 AM

Both orientation sessions will be held at 39 Exchange Street, Milford, MA 01757.

This is a meaningful way for high school students to gain experience, build leadership skills, complete volunteer hours, and make a positive difference in the lives of younger children.
