Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director, the floater will perform the duties assigned to her by the Lead Teacher.  Employee may be asked to work in any of Ibero's childcare programs.


Essential Functions:

Reports directly to the Education Specialist

Establishes and maintains good working relationships with Ibero staff, staff from related agencies, community representatives and parents

Assists Primary Caregivers and/or Lead Teachers in implementing a developmentally appropriate program

Follows Ibero's policies and procedures, NYS regulations and UPK standards

Speaks positively and respectfully to children

Supervises and ensures children's safety during all activities

Socialize with children during activities and at meal time using family style dining

Quietly speaks and guides children for a calm transition

Maintains the classroom to ensure that the environment is pleasant and safe

Assists with minor cleaning duties as assigned

Completes all work in a timely manner

Attends scheduled staff meetings, parent meetings, trainings and daycare center events as assigned

Keeps knowledge of children and families confidential

Continues to develop professionally

Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or delegates

Authority:

The individual must be resourceful and able to display initiative regarding classroom activities and implementation of lesson plans as assigned.

High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience.

        Experience working with infants, toddlers or preschoolers.

Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Must be able to pass clearance through the NYS Central Registry, good police record and good health.

Ability to work alternative work schedule to support program/parent evening and weekend activities, when needed.

Must show creativity and flexibility.

A combination of training and experience other than the specified, if judged to be adequate for the job, may be accepted by the President and CEO
