Child visitation monitors supervise visits between a child or children and their non-custodial parent. In most cases, you observe these visits because of a court order that requires a neutral party to be present. Your job duties include monitoring the interaction between the parent and child and documenting what you see and hear. Depending on the situation, you may also provide emotional support for the child or intervene if you feel the child is unsafe or uncomfortable. Child visitation monitors often work in a facility where such visits take place. In some situations, the monitor transports the child to a meeting place.
