Job Description:
The Child Life Specialist utilizes education and therapeutic interventions to help children cope with illness and hospitalization. Specialists will utilize their knowledge to educate, prepare, and support children during hospital stays, as well as learn to understand how to reduce anxiety. Acts as a resource to help adults answer children's questions and cope with the family changes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Development, Child Life, or Psychology required.
Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) credential and member of Child Life Council within one year of hire required.
Manages and educates patients and families in a medical setting preferred.
