Responsibilities

Helps to care for children and infants, from six weeks to eight years, and provides for their physical, emotional, and educational needs, and in maintaining a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Six months of experience in a structured classroom setting.
  • Associates, Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree in Early Childhood Education or education related field OR
    • Completion of Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) OR
    • Child Development Associate (CDA) OR
    • Current enrollment in an early childhood certification program such as Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC), or Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or education related field, AND completion of CDA, TCC, or degree within two years of hire OR
    • Completion of a CDA within two years of hire
  • Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and First Aid or must obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • PREFERRED

  • One year of experience in a structured classroom setting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child development/management techniques, appropriate activities for children and related care regulations. Must be willing to obtain additional training on a regular basis.
  • Must be energetic, and an interest in and enjoyment of children.
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
