YMCA Child Development Academy (CDA)
Are you a song-singing, snack dispensing, story-reading superstar? Do you have the magic ability to turn tears into giggles and curiosity into learning? If so, we want you to lead our little learners on their daily adventures at the Family YMCA Child Development Academy!
About the Job:
As a Lead Teacher, you will be the leader of the classroom, full of bright, energetic, and sometimes sticky-fingered little learners. You will create a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment where children can learn, play and grow.
What You'll Do:
  • Plan fun and creative activities that make learning fun and engaging.
  • Foster a love for books, numbers, and hands-on learning.
  • Maintain lesson plans and keep parents and directors in the loop on child's progress.
  • Be a mentor to assistant teachers and a role model for our little learners.
  • Handle big emotions with patience and kindness.

What We Are Looking For:
  • A passion for early childhood education.
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
  • A team player with great communication skills.
  • The ability to turn everyday moments into learning opportunities.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification
  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or a CDA Certificate is preferred.
  • If not currently credentialed with a CDA, TCC, or degree in Early Childhood Education (or a related qualifying field), the incumbent must enroll in a qualifying credential program within six (6) months of hire and complete the credential or degree within eighteen (18) months of enrollment.
