Child Development Academy Director
Family YMCA | Full-Time | Exempt
Are you a passionate early childhood leader looking to make a lasting impact? The Family YMCA is seeking an experienced Child Development Academy Director to lead our licensed childcare center and Child Watch program. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of young learners while leading a dedicated team committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and high-quality learning environment.
What You'll Do
As the Child Development Academy Director, you will:
  • Lead the daily operations of our Child Development Academy and HUB Child Watch program.
  • Recruit, supervise, coach, and develop a team of early childhood professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with Georgia DECAL/Bright from the Start licensing standards and YMCA policies.
  • Oversee program quality, curriculum implementation, staffing, budgeting, and family engagement.
  • Build strong relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive workplace that reflects the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Minimum age of 21.
  • CDA (or higher) in Early Childhood Education
  • At least 2 years of experience in a licensed child care setting
  • Demonstrated supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to complete or possess the required DECAL Director Training before or as required for licensure. Prior to issuance of an initial license, the Center Director responsible for day-to-day operations must complete a 40-hour DECAL-approved Director's Training Course.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Successful background check, drug screening, and acceptable motor vehicle record.

Preferred:
  • Experience with Quality Rated, childcare administration, budgeting, grants, and YMCA programs.
