These internships typically involve tasks like lesson planning, virtual observation, research, data entry, and participation in online meetings. Interns gain experience in child psychology, early education, and developmental support while building skills that can be applied in a variety of child-focused careers. Remote internships offer flexibility and the chance to work with organizations that may be located anywhere. This format is especially valuable for those seeking experience while balancing other commitments or those without access to local opportunities.

As a remote Child Development Intern, you may assist with creating educational materials, supporting virtual lesson planning, conducting research on child development topics, and analyzing data from child assessments. You’ll often collaborate with supervisors and team members through video calls, shared documents, and online project management tools. Regular communication and self-motivation are key, as you’ll be expected to update your progress and contribute ideas independently while still receiving guidance from experienced professionals.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • A demonstrated commitment to Natural Learning Environment Practices and adapting interventions to meet each child’s unique needs.
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply, as language skills can significantly enhance communication with families from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Experience

A minimum of one year of direct experience working with children in early intervention settings is required. Experience in applying various therapeutic methodologies and adapting to different learning styles will be beneficial in meeting the needs of each child’s individualized treatment plan.
