Job description

If you care about small cities and towns, believe organizations should be run well, and know how to turn disciplined action into growth, read on.

Community Heart & Soul is a resident-driven process that helps people discover what they love about their town, the future they want for it, and how to achieve it. Practiced in towns across America, we are expanding through community foundations, statewide networks, and civic partners.

We need a Chief Operating Officer who can make sure our organization is ready for that growth.

You will work directly with the President to strengthen daily operations, staff coordination, financial discipline, technology, contracts, systems, and follow-through.

We seek a hands-on leader with business experience, sound judgment, strong financial sense, and the ability to improve systems without creating bureaucracy. You must be practical, organized, calm under pressure, and able to support a talented staff while preserving the trust, flexibility, and spirit that make this organization work.

This is not a job for someone who wants to sit above the work. It is for someone who can keep pace, solve problems, strengthen accountability, and help Community Heart & Soul grow without losing its soul.

If you have the experience, character, and drive to help us bring Heart & Soul to vastly more small cities and towns, tell us why you can do this job.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Community Heart & Soul is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply.
