Job description

Kirton McConkie, one of the largest and most respected law firms in the Intermountain West, is seeking a highly accomplished CFO/Director of Finance to serve as the firm's senior financial leader. This pivotal executive role oversees all financial and accounting functions and plays a critical part in shaping the firm's strategic direction.
The CFO/Director of Finance will lead and manage the accounting department, providing executive oversight of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, internal controls, banking relationships, tax coordination, shareholder compensation, and all other financial operations. This role serves as a trusted advisor to firm leadership, delivering financial analysis, strategic insights, and guidance that inform key business decisions. The CFO/Director of Finance reports to the Director of Administration (COO).
Qualifications
• Minimum of seven to ten years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, and financial management, with demonstrated success in a senior leadership capacity.
• Proven track record of hands-on leadership and management of an accounting department, including direct supervision and development of professional staff.
• Exceptional judgment, interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to diverse stakeholders, including attorneys and firm leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field required; CPA designation or advanced degree (MBA) strongly preferred.
• Prior experience in a law firm or professional services environment required.
