TITLE: Chief Maintenance EngineerLOCATION: Bedford, OH & Richfield, OHTRAVEL: Up to 50%, regionallyWHAT WE DO

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Chief Engineer, you will lead the day-to-day operations of a large commercial facility, ensuring all maintenance, repair, and facility services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with client expectations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the client
  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of maintenance technicians
  • Oversee all facility operations, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance systems
  • Utilize CMMS systems to schedule and manage maintenance activities and track performance
  • Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring quality service and contract compliance
  • Conduct routine inspections of buildings, systems, and equipment to identify and resolve issues
  • Perform hands-on troubleshooting and minor repairs as needed
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs and safety procedures
  • Manage budgets, reporting, and operational documentation
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies
  • Support hiring, training, and performance management of facility staff
  • Participate in an on-call rotation (approximately every 6 weeks)

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5+ years of experience managing maintenance teams in a commercial facility environment
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance)
  • Experience with CMMS systems and facility operations management
  • OSHA-10 certification required
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multi-building operations is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with tools and basic facility repairs
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
