Section Chief Laboratory Technologist - Full Time - Evenings

Here you'll have the opportunity to conduct routine and complex tests as a Generalist covering Hematology, Chemistry, Microbiology, and Blood Bank. Perform assays on clinical specimens in all areas of the laboratory including Urinalysis, Blood Gases, and Coagulation, while serving as a lead to other Laboratory Technologists. Troubleshoot instruments and methods. Perform all quality control procedures and assist in the evaluation of new equipment, reagents and methodologies. Calibrate and maintain lab instrumentation. Research and establish new procedures to improve laboratory operations.

This is an evening shift position working 4:00 pm - 12:00 am Monday - Friday plus rotating weekends & holidays. Location is our Allen Hospital campus in Upper Manhattan/Inwood.

Preferred Criteria

  • ASCP certification
  • Blood Bank, coagulation and urinalysis experience strongly preferred

Required Criteria

  • Minimum of 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or 2 years of clinical laboratory experience with Master's degree or 1 years of experience with a MD, DO or doctoral degree in a chemical, physical or biological science
  • Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in Medical Technology or equivalent curriculum unless credentials are grandfathered in as life experience
  • New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist licensure from the New York Education department

Salary Range:

$61.40-$70.55/Hourly
