Job description

Company Description The OIM Group is a multi-brand mortgage platform operating across North America, supporting leading brokerages with integrated infrastructure and technology. The organization focuses on delivering scalable solutions that allow mortgage brokers and teams to grow efficiently and sustainably. By providing centralized systems, tools, and expertise, The OIM Group helps partners streamline operations and enhance client service. Team members join a collaborative environment that values innovation, performance, and long-term relationships within the mortgage ecosystem.

The OIM Group is now preparing for its next phase of scale. The Group operates through its subsidiaries Swyft Financial, IMN, Indi, and Orbis, spanning multiple business lines and regulatory jurisdictions. As the Group advances toward its next milestones, it is seeking a seasoned, hands‑on Chief Financial Officer to build institutional‑grade financial infrastructure across the Group and its subsidiaries, support capital‑raising and investor relations activities, and serve as a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors.

Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior executive leadership role responsible for the overall financial strategy, health, and governance of The OIM Group and its subsidiaries — Swyft Financial, IMN, Indi, and Orbis. Operating across multiple jurisdictions, the CFO will act as both an internal thought partner to the CEO and board and an external champion for the Group's future growth, financing, and capital markets activities across all subsidiaries. The CFO will lead the transformation of the Group finance function into an IPO‑ready organization, oversee consolidated and subsidiary‑level financial reporting and controls, drive capital formation and investor relationships, and provide functional oversight of Human Resources, Information Technology, and Legal/Intellectual Property across the Group. The successful candidate will combine deep technical financial expertise — including comfort with multi‑entity, multi‑jurisdictional consolidation, tax, and regulatory requirements — with the strategic judgment, credibility, and communication skills required to represent the Group before investors, auditors, regulators, and the Board.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Board Partnership
  • Serve as a strong internal and external executive champion for the Group's future growth, financing, and capital markets activities across all subsidiaries.
  • Act as a trusted internal thought partner to the CEO and Board of Directors on long‑range growth planning, capital strategy, and corporate development for the Group and each subsidiary.
  • Work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team to ensure the success of The OIM Group through prudent financial management, acting as a true executive business partner rather than a purely functional finance lead.
  • Present regular consolidated and subsidiary‑level financial, risk, and strategic updates to the Board of Directors and Audit Committee.
Group Structure & Multi‑Jurisdictional Oversight
  • Own financial oversight and reporting for The OIM Group and each of its subsidiaries — Swyft Financial, IMN, Indi, and Orbis — ensuring consistent standards, controls, and consolidation across the Group.
  • Manage multi‑jurisdictional tax, regulatory, and compliance requirements across the jurisdictions in which the Group and its subsidiaries operate, working with local advisors as needed.
  • Establish consistent Group‑wide finance policies, chart of accounts, and reporting cadence while accommodating jurisdiction‑specific and subsidiary‑specific requirements.
  • Coordinate intercompany transactions, transfer pricing considerations, and cross‑border cash management across the Group.
  • Assess the Group finance organization's current state and recommend changes to the team, systems, and processes required for further scale (organic growth and M&A).
  • Support development and implementation of a Group‑wide Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to support scalability, multi‑entity consolidation, and operational readiness to support further growth and M&A activity.
Financial Reporting, Controls & Compliance
  • Ensure the Group's capitalization (cap) table is accurately maintained and updated on an ongoing basis, reflecting the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Oversee issuance of management‑prepared, consolidated monthly management accounts and quarterly financial statements within 30 days of each quarter end.
  • Oversee issuance of annual financial statements within 45 days of year end, and completion of the annual audit within 90 days of year end, with minimal non‑conformance issues identified, across the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance practices consistent with the Group's growth stage, multi‑jurisdictional footprint, and growth trajectory.
Budgeting, Planning & Risk Management
  • Lead the annual budget process for the Group and each subsidiary in collaboration with the senior leadership team, delivering a draft budget for CEO review and approval by October 31st for the following year.
  • Conduct continued risk analysis for the Group and its subsidiaries and deliver quarterly risk reports to the Audit Committee.
Functional Leadership: HR, IT, Legal & IP
  • Provide functional oversight and responsibility for the Human Resources (HR) and Information Technology (IT) teams and related processes across the Group.
  • Recommend strategy for HR and IT processes and systems to ensure regulatory compliance and minimize organizational risk across all jurisdictions in which the Group operates.
  • Provide functional responsibility for Legal and Intellectual Property (IP) matters across the Group, coordinating with outside counsel in each relevant jurisdiction as needed.
Stakeholder Interaction
  • Internally, this position interacts with all employees and management across The OIM Group and its subsidiaries — Swyft Financial, IMN, Indi, and Orbis.
  • Externally, this position interacts with industry organizations, consultants, vendors, the Group's auditors, and tax/revenue authorities in the relevant jurisdictions (including the Canada Revenue Agency), as well as investors, mortgage brokers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Perform any other services or duties as mutually agreed upon between the Group and the CFO from time to time.
Qualifications & Experience
  • CPA designation (or equivalent) required; MBA or other advanced financial/business degree an asset.
  • 12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including prior CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent senior executive experience, ideally within a high‑growth, multi‑entity technology, financial services, or fintech group.
  • Proven experience overseeing finance for a multi‑subsidiary, multi‑jurisdictional group structure, including consolidation, intercompany accounting, and jurisdiction‑specific tax and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated success leading capital‑raising activities and managing investor relationships (venture, private equity, and/or public markets).
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian financial reporting, tax, and regulatory requirements, including detailed knowledge of Sales Tax as it relates to the sale of financial services as well as CRA processes.
  • Experience implementing ERP and financial systems to support organizational scale across multiple entities.
  • Prior functional oversight of HR, IT, or Legal/IP functions is an asset.
  • Executive presence and communication skills sufficient to represent the Group before the Board, investors, auditors, and regulators.
  • Based in, or willing to relocate to, the Montréal, Québec area, with the ability to work on‑site at Group headquarters and travel as needed to subsidiary locations.
  • Bilingual, French and English a requirement.
Compensation & Location

This is a Montréal‑based executive position; candidates must be located in, or willing to relocate to, the greater Montréal area. The Group will offer an annual salary of up to CAD $250,000 for the right candidate, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with executive benefits and eligibility for a bonus participation to be discussed during the offer process.
