Fidelity Hotel is a Michelin Key-awarded adaptive reuse project located at 1940 E. 6th Street in the historic 103-year-old Baker Building. Fidelity Hotel has 97 guest rooms & suites, each with tailored amenities, custom-designed furniture, and thoughtfully curated art. The property features a full-service restaurant, bar, event & meeting spaces, and a private dining room. Fidelity Hotel is an homage to Cleveland's long-standing ideals. What you'll do:
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all hotel departments, including Engineering, Housekeeping, and Food & Beverage
  • Ensure the hotel's maintenance and upkeep meet New Waterloo standards
  • Perform and supervise repairs, maintenance, alterations, and installations in compliance with safety regulations and applicable codes (local, state, federal, and insurance)
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine corrective actions, and document repairs following departmental procedures
  • Organize, schedule, and track preventive and corrective maintenance using designated preventative maintenance software; maintain logs, checklists, and reports
  • Delegate and supervise daily maintenance tasks and special projects to ensure quality work with minimal supervision or rework
  • Operate tools and equipment safely
  • Monitor inventory levels and order supplies within the permitted budget
  • Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and appliance issues; ensure timely repair and resolution
  • Oversee maintenance of all structural fixtures and mechanical systems, both interior and exterior
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for engineering staff
  • Train the engineering team and other associates on hotel systems, equipment, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
  • Serve as a technical liaison to other departments; ensure timely communication and follow-up on service requests
  • Respond to emergencies in an engineering capacity to protect guests, associates, and property; understand life safety systems, fire protection, emergency power, and sprinkler systems
  • Maintain accurate utility readings and assist in analyzing energy use and conservation efforts
  • Assist with the preparation and management of engineering budgets, expense tracking, and capital projects
  • Ensure guest complaints are resolved promptly and courteously
  • Conduct weekly property inspections (minimum five guest rooms, public, and back-of-house areas) with the General Manager and address deficiencies promptly
  • Maintain positive public relations with guests and associates at all times
  • Attend relevant meetings, including monthly financial reviews; remain flexible and responsive to scheduling needs

Who you are:
  • Having a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience in an engineering operational hospitality role is preferred.
  • You have a track record of creating profitable, operational, and innovative Engineering solutions.
  • You have experience leading multiple projects from ideation through execution.
  • You can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • You can write routine reports and correspondence.
  • You can speak effectively before guests and groups of co-workers.
  • You are detail-oriented and take ownership of work.
  • You use time wisely and are an expert in prioritizing.
  • You have a strong work ethic and can work both autonomously and with a team.
  • You are an excellent communicator who leads by example.
  • You have the patience to make intricate pastries and plate beautiful desserts.
