Job description

We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to shape the financial strategy of our fast-growing company. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee all financial operations, drive strategic decision-making, and partner with the executive team to fuel growth and long-term value creation. This is a unique opportunity to influence the trajectory of our business, optimize performance, and play a central role in advancing our mission in the ESG software space.

Reponsibilities
  • Strategic Finance & Leadership
    • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO on financial planning, growth strategy, and capital allocation.
    • Build and lead a high-performing finance organization, balancing rigor with agility.
    • Provide financial insight and decision support across all business functions (Sales, Product, Operations, HR).
    • Oversee revenue management, including forecasting, pricing strategies, contract renewals, and revenue recognition in compliance with accounting standards.
    • Manage procurement strategy and vendor relationships to optimize cost, risk, and operational efficiency.
    Fundraising & Investor Relations
    • Lead equity and debt fundraising processes, including VC rounds, extensions, and strategic financings
    • Develop and maintain investor materials (pitch decks, financial models, data rooms)
    • Manage relationships with existing and prospective investors, lenders, and financial advisors
    • Own board and investor reporting, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and strategic insight
    M&A and Corporate Development
    • Identify, evaluate, and execute M&A, partnership, and strategic investment opportunities
    • Lead financial due diligence, valuation, deal structuring, and negotiations
    • Oversee post‑acquisition integration from a financial and operational perspective
    • Coordinate with legal, tax, and external advisors throughout transactions
    Financial Operations & Execution
    • Own all core financial operations, including accounting, payroll, and statutory reporting across jurisdictions (as applicable).
    • Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, and audit readiness.
    • Lead tax planning and regulatory compliance, supporting operational scalability and risk mitigation.
      Manage contract administration processes, ensuring timely renewals and alignment with revenue recognition policies.
    Financial Infrastructure & Systems
    • Implement and scale financial systems, processes, and reporting tools appropriate for a growing company.
    • Ensure data integrity, timely actionable financial reporting, and alignment with revenue management processes.
    • Support operational scalability and readiness for future milestones (e.g., IPO, large acquisitions).
    • Optimize procurement systems and workflows to drive efficiency and cost savings.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a CFO with a track record of success in financial leadership in a technology scale-up;
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including time in a senior finance role (CFO, VP Finance, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience leading VC‑backed fundraising (multiple rounds strongly preferred)
  • Demonstrated M&A experience, including deal execution and integration
    Strong background as a financial operator, with hands‑on ownership of accounting, FP&A, and cash management
  • Experience working with Boards of Directors and senior leadership teams
  • Prior experience in a high‑growth, technology or SaaS environment preferred
  • CPA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent credentials a plus
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills (Bilingualism French and English);
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills;
  • Familiarity with accounting and payroll software (Wagepoint, Xero, Dext, Ramp, Deel, Float Card, etc.).
