Job Title: Estimator
Reports To: Chief Construction Officer
Summary: Estimators has the overall responsibility for preparing cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned).
  • Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience/Skills: High school education or equivalent; or up to 8 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred 5 years field experience along with 3 plus years estimating. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
