We are currently hiring for: Compact Grader Lead

The Grader Lead is responsible for overseeing the grading team during 2nd shift operations, ensuring chicken products meet company quality, safety, and packaging standards. This position supports production efficiency, provides team leadership, and helps maintain a safe and sanitary work environment in a fast-paced manufacturing facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and support production and grading team members during 2nd shift operations.
  • Inspect, sort, and grade chicken products according to quality and customer specifications.
  • Compute, prepare, scan, and print inventory labels to support accurate product identification and inventory control.
  • Maintain a steady flow of production in a fast-paced processing environment.
  • Monitor product quality and remove defective or non-compliant items from the line.
  • Train employees on safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
  • Adapt to changing production needs and assist in improving current processes.
  • Accurately read numbers and use scales as part of daily production responsibilities.
  • Support other production areas or departments as needed.
  • Communicate production, quality, or equipment concerns to supervisors and management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, USDA/FDA regulations, and food safety standards.
  • Frequent standing, bending, and repetitive movements required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Be able to follow procedures.
  • Pallet Jack experience needed.  
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or poultry processing preferred.
  • Prior leadership or team lead experience is a plus.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work in cold, wet, and fast-paced environments
  • Follow plant GMP, PPE, SQF, Safety and USDA guidelines.
  • Ability to work quickly and safely to meet production requirements.
  • Candidate must successfully pass post-offer/pre-employment drug and background screen.
