This is a hybrid role that requires some on-site work (inside our Indianapolis, Indiana office). In addition to the on-site duties, there are additional responsibilities that can be completed outside of the office, resulting in this being a hybrid role.

Our Purpose is to Empower Members to Achieve Financial Success. The Loan Adjustment Specialist provides excellent member service to protect our members’ assets and credit union’s assets.

You will learn how to be the expert to best serve our members:

  • Manages a high volume of member contact regarding past due loans, credit cards, and share accounts with professionalism and sound judgment. Maintains exceptional call quality, active listening, and outstanding service in accordance with internal guidelines and applicable Federal and State laws.
  • Utilizes experience and decision-making skills to resolve account matters effectively, while navigating multiple internal systems to support members and process a variety of financial transactions during interactions.
  • Assist in bankruptcy cases in accordance with the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and internal guidelines.
  • Assist in the processing of loan/share charge-offs, sending deficiency letters, and maintenance of ChexSystems.
  • Assist the BSA & Fraud department on potential fraudulent applications, transactions, or member research when needed.

  • Ability to identify Red Flag situations and respond appropriately.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot various member devices/operating systems to ensure digital excellence across multiple channels.



You will help grow the business:

  • Ensure accurate credit bureau information is reported to the four reporting agencies, researching member disputes, and responding appropriately including eOSCAR updates.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of all systems utilized in the Asset Recovery Department.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of collection experience required.
  • High school degree required; college degree preferred.
  • Must have the ability to interpret credit reports, loan applications and other financial information that apply to day-to-day collection activities.
  • Must maintain a thorough knowledge of the federal bankruptcy code, FDCPA, and any other regulations impacting member accounts.
  • Must possess excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to leverage skills, knowledge, and experience to invest in our community.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive environment that promotes belonging.
  • A focus on respect and excellent service to both external and internal (team) members.
  • A proven track record of integrity with a demonstrated ability to build trust.
  • High level of customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
