The Opportunity

You'll serve as the core engineering resource for production operations at a multi-billion-dollar global chemical technology leader. Your work directly improves product quality, production capacity, safety, and cost efficiency across chemical process units. This is a high-impact role where your technical expertise drives measurable operational outcomes.

Your Day-to-Day
  • Monitor daily unit operations and deliver hands-on technical support to your assigned production area
  • Identify and present recommendations to improve quality, reduce costs, enhance safety, and lower emissions — backed by technical substantiation
  • Develop, conduct, and evaluate process tests aimed at improving product quality, increasing capacity, or cutting operating costs
  • Investigate the operating and economic feasibility of implementing modern technology, safety recommendations, and planned capacity changes
  • Collaborate with unit teams to prepare annual control budgets, operating reviews, and economic studies for proposed programs
  • Provide technical support for PSM/RMP and other regulatory compliance programs
  • Design and document chemical processes for improved and new products, including equipment selection and scale-up from development to production
  • Write procedures and deliver training for the safe operation of new equipment
  • Lead selected projects including planning, coordination, progress reporting, and supervision of technicians as needed
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and design improvements to optimize operations and reduce maintenance and repair costs
  • Coordinate with engineering, production, and outside contractors to maximize equipment uptime and maintain the highest quality output
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering (required)
  • 3+ years of process engineering experience in a chemical or petroleum manufacturing environment
  • Distillation process experience in chemical manufacturing is preferred, though other chemical process engineering backgrounds will be considered
  • Strong technical knowledge of chemical handling properties, process control, and unit economics
  • Ability to work effectively across Japanese-American cultural lines
  • Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs., climbing stairs multiple times per shift, and working 12-hour shifts
