Job Title: Chemical Process Operator

Job Description

The Chemical Process Operator will be responsible for tending equipment and managing semiautomatic processes for the formulation of chemical substances used in industrial and consumer products. Working at a small chemical packaging site, the operator will follow batch sheets and recipes, ensuring accurate chemical formulations.

Responsibilities

• Tend to equipment and semiautomatic processes for chemical substances.
• Work as an operator and material handler in a small chemical packaging site.
• Follow batch sheets/recipes for chemical formulations and lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.
• Inspect work areas and equipment for leaks or malfunctions, shutting equipment down when necessary and notifying maintenance or engineering.
• Operate sit-down forklifts to move materials or bring barrels, drums, vials, or totes to equipment for processing.
• Learn product labeling and use computer software to enter and verify product content, volume, and usage.
• Weigh and measure quantities of solids, powders, and liquids into heating vessels or blending tanks.
• Monitor and document gauges, signals, and recorders, receiving notifications from the lab supervisor on process changes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to operate a forklift in small spaces with substantial accuracy.
• Excellent depth perception to reach totes on high racks without causing damage.
• Experience working in a hot and inherently dirty environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
