Chemical Maintenance Supervisor

Industrial Manufacturing | Metal Plating Operations

This facility operates in a highly technical plating and chemical processing environment and is seeking a hands-on leader to oversee chemical maintenance, wastewater systems, environmental compliance, and production support operations.


Position Overview

The Wastewater & Chemical Maintenance Supervisor will lead daily chemical maintenance operations across production while supporting environmental compliance, equipment reliability, and plant uptime.


This role combines hands-on troubleshooting, team leadership, wastewater oversight, and plating chemistry management within a fast-paced industrial environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise chemical maintenance and support production personnel
  • Maintain plating tank chemistry, dosing systems, and batch treatments
  • Oversee wastewater treatment processes and environmental inspections
  • Manage hazardous waste handling and compliance (RCRA, DOT, OSHA)
  • Maintain chemical inventory and storage procedures
  • Troubleshoot and maintain pumps, filtration systems, and chemical transfer equipment
  • Support preventative maintenance programs and rapid equipment repair
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, PPE protocols, and environmental regulations
  • Maintain logs, reporting, inspections, and operational documentation
  • Coordinate safe receiving, storage, and movement of industrial chemicals


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in industrial chemical operations, plating, wastewater, or manufacturing maintenance
  • Strong understanding of plating chemistry and chemical process systems
  • Experience with industrial or municipal wastewater treatment systems
  • Knowledge of OSHA, RCRA, HAZWOPER, and environmental compliance standards
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial pumps and chemical transfer systems
  • Familiarity with PLC or SCADA systems preferred
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in manufacturing environments
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting abilities
  • Microsoft Office and reporting experience required
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain preferred
  • Wastewater Treatment License (Class C preferred)
