ABOUT

When lives are on the line, these brave men and women embody the courage of America’s Navy—readily going into harm’s way to complete their rescue missions in some of the most extreme environments imaginable.

EMERGENCY, FIRE AND RESCUE JOBS IN THE NAVY

DAMAGE CONTROLMAN

Damage Controlmen are the first responders who are critical to preventing accidents. Trained in firefighting, ship stability and chemical, radiological and biological warfare defense, these Sailors are masters of it all. They also provide training to ensure that all Sailors are prepared for an emergency, since all engineers are trained as first responders and attend additional training (BECC-Basic Engineering Common Core) on the first line of defense when it comes to fires, flooding, and CBR attacks.

MASTER-AT-ARMS

Provide security on ships, at bases and at military installations all around the world. Whether executing crime prevention programs or carrying out anti-terrorism measures, the Sailors working as the Navy’s military police are equipped to handle any situation.
