Job description

ANALYTICAL CMEMIST. IBC is seeking an Analytical Chemist with a B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering or a closely related field to support laboratory operations involving chemical analysis, sample preparation, and instrument-based characterization with applications in mineral separation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform analytical testing using ICP-OES and ICP-MS
  • Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and calibration solutions
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation
  • Review and document analytical results with accuracy and traceability
  • Follow established SOPs, quality-control procedures, and laboratory safety requirements
  • Maintain laboratory records, logs, and data files in an organized manner
  • Support method development, validation, and continuous improvement activities as needed
  • Assist with routine laboratory housekeeping, inventory, and general operations

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mining Engineering or a related discipline
  • Hands-on analytical laboratory experience
  • Experience with ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
  • Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate documentation
  • Ability to work effectively in an on-site laboratory setting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with minerals separation
  • Strong knowledge of mass transfer, reaction kinetics, and thermodynamics in porous media
  • Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, calibration verification, and instrument performance checks
  • Experience working with environmental, industrial, metallurgical, brine, or process samples

This is a full-time position. The level of pay will depend on experience.
