Job description

We are seeking a driven and experienced Sous Chef to support the Executive Chef and Banquet Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations. This role plays a vital part in both à la carte service and banquet production, ensuring exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and organization are consistently met. The ideal candidate brings a passion for culinary excellence, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and values teamwork in a collaborative kitchen setting.

Qualifications

What you'll do for us:

You will assist the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations and the execution of service, ensuring everything runs smoothly. You will supervise and support line cooks and other kitchen staff while also contributing to menu creation. In this role, you will help maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation across all dishes. You will assist with both à la carte service and banquet production, making sure food is prepared and served in a timely manner. Additionally, you will uphold sanitation standards in accordance with health department regulations and ensure proper labeling, dating, and storage of all food products. You will also help train and mentor kitchen staff while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen environment.

Experience:

  • Culinary degree or at least 4+ years of kitchen experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or club
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Food Management certification preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
