POSITION SUMMARY: The Dishwasher at one of Oxford’s luxury or boutique-style hotels is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment. This role ensures that all kitchenware, cookware, service ware, and utensils are promptly and properly cleaned, organized, and restocked to support seamless back-of-house operations. The Dishwasher is a vital contributor to the success of the culinary and service teams, enabling them to deliver exceptional food and beverage experiences across restaurant, banquet, and in-room dining outlets. In addition to operating dish machines and maintaining all sanitation protocols, this position also assists with deep-cleaning kitchen equipment, removing waste and recyclables, and supporting food preparation as needed. The Dishwasher plays a key role in striving to meet and exceed Four-Star service standards delivering high-quality service and amenities with strong attention to detail, ensuring excellence in every guest interaction, and consistently exceeding expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: All duties and responsibilities of this position are to be performed with exceptional caring and genuine guest service upholding the Oxford Collection of hotels standards and culture at all times.

Dishwashing and Cleaning (90%):

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner, offering Four-Diamond service at all times
  • Promptly and carefully sort, wash, dry, and store all dirty dishes, utensils, and cookware in their proper places.
  • Keep dish machine properly cleaned and filled with water per chef’s standards
  • Clean ovens, fryers and other kitchen equipment as directed by Chef or supervisor
  • Maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen, dining area, walk-in, and storage areas
  • Sweep and mop floors, clean tables and chairs, spot clean walls and all countertops
  • Remove trash, collect and sort recyclables, remove compost, placing items in designated bins while maintain cleanliness of garbage, recycling and composting areas
  • Keep kitchen hand wash sinks stocked with soap and paper towels
  • Learn and actively participate in kitchen production as directed by cooks, supervisors and chefs in ensure that all duties meet the Oxford Collection standard for Four-Star service.

Perform all tasks in compliance with federal, state, local, food safety and sanitation requirements and Oxford Collection of hotels safety standards and security procedures. Be knowledgeable about and able to respond to emergency situations. Report any maintenance repairs needed immediately to their supervisor or General Manager.

Guest Relations (5%):

  • Greet and acknowledge guests as they enter the dining area, providing a high level of customer service to ensure every aspect of their experience exceeds expectations.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
  • Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with both internal and external guests

Other (5 %):

  • Assist other departments with work as time permits
  • Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information for co-workers and leadership team
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
  • Other Hotel related duties as assigned

PREFFERED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
  • Must be able to list 50 pounds occasionally and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis
  • While primarily an indoor job, must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
  • Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside in a variety of weather conditions
