Are you an experienced Sous Chef looking for your next challenge? We're looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and hone your culinary and leadership skills in a supportive kitchen environment. As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in managing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, while ensuring the highest standards of quality and presentation. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food and labor cost management.
  • The Sous Chef is responsible for the effective management and operation of the public food culinary team including event planning support, scheduling, food preparation and production, food cost control, compliance with food safety and sanitation policies, cleaning, kitchen safety, employee training and supervision, and any other tasks assigned by the Food and Beverage Director or Executive Chef.
  • A critical function of the Sous Chef will be to actively mentor, train and help employees meet company quality standards, and to promote a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to maintain high standards of performance and foster a positive work atmosphere.
  • Directly manage Cooks, Prep Cooks, and Kitchen Managers, ensuring efficient workflow and compliance with company policies.
  • Conduct training sessions, assign tasks, and resolve any issues that arise in accordance with organizational guidelines.

Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Formal culinary training/certification, associate degree in culinary arts, or a minimum of 3 years' experience in a Sous Chef role required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.
  • Proven leadership experience in kitchen management, in both a la carte and banquet settings.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Class III Gaming License issued from the Squaxin Island Gaming Commission

Class 12 Mixologist Permit

Current Washington State Food Worker Card
