Job description

The Material Handler Freezer Controller is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of material handling equipment within the finished goods freezer. This role manages the receipt, verification, storage, and system entry of finished goods inventory from production, ensuring inventory accuracy, product integrity, and compliance with food safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities
  • Receive, inspect, and verify finished goods inventory from production to ensure accuracy, quality, and documentation completeness.
  • Accurately scan and record finished goods inventory into the Enterprise Resource Planning ERP system using handheld scanning devices.
  • Prepare finished goods for storage by wrapping, labeling, and properly placing product into designated freezer racks according to inventory standards and food safety requirements.
  • Support the loading and reconciliation of transfer orders for finished goods being moved to external or offsite freezer storage locations.
  • Assist with picking, staging, and fulfillment of UPS shipments, product samples, and employee sales orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate daily with Production and Quality Assurance teams to resolve inventory issues, maintain product integrity, and support operational flow.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely, including pallet jacks and standby and sit-down forklifts, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience with stand-up and pallet-jack forklifts.
  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. or relevant work experience required.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • Experience using a hand-held scanner.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in cold environments
  • Occasional bending, lifting, and reaching
  • High Safety Awareness.
