From the vibrant array of fresh produce to the freshly made prepared foods and gourmet treats, Uncle Giuseppe's always provides a special experience for customers. With quality being a top priority, they always ensure that everything is made fresh every day and only with the finest ingredients!

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Cheese Managerfor our newly arriving store located in Sayville, NY! As an Assistant Cheese Manager at Uncle Giuseppe's, individual prepares, stocks, serves and merchandises cheese and related food products to our customers while maintaining our high standards of safety and sanitation. This is a hands on position.

Responsibilities

  • Supports a positive customer experience, providing guests with a unique, enthusiastic and informational experience within our Cheese Department
  • Assist the Cheese Manager with ordering, inventory, staff schedules, training, and other related functions
  • Provide information to customers on the variety of cheeses, pairing, seasonal items and assistance with their questions
  • Packs, labels and merchandises cheese and related items according to Uncle Giuseppe's policies
  • Maintains the entire work area in clean and sanitary conditions while following all company safety procedures within the store
  • Supervises a staff of cheese clerks
  • Other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience working in a Cheese Department with 1 plus years as Assistant Cheese Manager
  • A strong understanding of the many different types of cheese, temperatures, storage, inventory, tastes, are necessary for this position
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Must have a very high passion for cheese!
  • Highly organized with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Must be able to speak, read and communicate in the English language
  • Strong attention to detail for accuracy in all facets of the position
