Job Summary:

MUFG is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with payment check processing experience. In this role you will collaborate with other senior technical team members and other developers to conceptualize, design, and deliver innovative technology solutions. You will interact with various technology, product and business teams across MUFG.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy new code to meet the business needs of the stories and features.

  • Maintain and enhance existing code to improve our software and minimize technical debt of the platform.

  • Research technical solutions for changing business needs and participate in team meetings.

  • Ability to work in a process-oriented environment.

  • Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.

  • Ensure the final product is highly performant, responsive, and of the highest quality.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 to 8 years of production support for check processing applications within a financial institution, preferable item processing system from FIS

  • Application development experience on data platforms, leveraging SQL, ETL Tools and object-oriented languages (Java, Python)

  • Minimum 6-8 years of development with complex SQL queries, Java script and Linux/Window shell scripting

  • Experience with Java and Java frameworks

  • Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines

  • Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Unix /Linux based environments

  • Experience managing teams in Agile environments

  • Experience with IDE tools - Eclipse, IntelliJ

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Oracle DB/IBM DB2/Microsoft SQL server

  • Application Security and Shell Scripting

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience

Preferred:

  • Web Service development experience (REST/JSON, SOAP)

  • Java - Core, Enterprise, Spring Framework (for Cloud Native Development)

  • Spring Boot or Spring Cloud, Micro Services, Kubernetes/OpenShift

  • Message Queue or ActiveMQ, JavaScript (jQuery/React JS)

  • High-energy, detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment.

Other:

  • As per MUFG's work policy, must work onsite 4 days and 1 day remotely.

The typical base pay range for this role is as follows:

  • New York / New Jersey: $140k-$205k

  • Non-New York / New Jersey: $140k-$188k
