Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious individual to join us as an Inspector/Locator I. This position performs utility locating, construction inspection, and easement monitoring activities that help protect District pipelines, facilities, and other critical infrastructure.
Position OverviewThe Inspector/Locator I locates and marks District pipelines and utilities, fulfills Blue Stakes requests, monitors construction near District facilities, and inspects easements and rights-of-way. The position works closely with contractors, utility owners, property owners, customers, engineers, and District employees to protect infrastructure and ensure work complies with District requirements.

This is a full-time, nonexempt position working 40 hours per week. The assigned schedule will generally be either:
The position participates in a rotating 24-hour emergency standby schedule and must be able to respond to work within 30 minutes while on standby. Occasional overtime, after-hours, holiday, and weekend work is required.
This position is not eligible for remote work.
Physical and Working ConditionsThe position regularly involves outdoor work, driving in hazardous traffic conditions, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, and working around active construction areas. Frequent work in confined spaces is required. The employee must regularly lift up to 10 pounds, frequently lift 11-30 pounds, and occasionally lift 30-50 pounds. The work environment may be loud and may include exposure to weather, moving equipment, chemicals, electrical hazards, vibration, and elevated work areas.
